I have an Elephant Brain ~ somtimes. I remembered this post from Mrs G. in October and started my own scrappy binding. As you can see there hasn't been much binding going on around here but I do have a start and that is what gets you on the way to the yards you need for a scrappy binding!
Blogging sure helps a young Quilter learn a few cool tips. I don't even have to leave my haven. Good thing because it's getting hot here in Florida and us MS'ers don't thrive in the heat. Just a fact.

I love scrappy bindings -- makes it a whole lot more interesting when one is stitching them down!
It's the BEST! :)
Can't tell you how many quilts I have around here that have scrappy binding! I love scrappy!
Scrappy binding is such fun - and sometimes a necessity when I forget and cut up the fabric I intended to be the binding. Ooops. :-)
Although I haven't done a scrappy binding yet, I know it's in my future.
We've got the same brain...
I can remember that so & so posted about this & such, but stuff I need to remember - forget about it
If I was an organized person I would be saving all those bits of binding and string them all together....but alas, organized person is the last thing I am -- heavy sigh.........
My mom used this on a quilt and I think it turns out beautiful and fun! A very cool binding treatment!
I'm so glad the elephant resides in your brain, Karen! He has been in and out of mine latley!
Cheers!
Boy great minds think alike. I just did a scappy binding and posted about it Monday I think. Funny!!
I love to do a scrappy binding too!
Great idea!
You keep my in stitches with your clever posts!!!!! Take care.
You'd love this ND weather. (It does get warm...but not yet.) And I have internet. And lots...LOTS of fabric that you could play with.
Just sayin'.... ;-)
I never thought to sew all the left over bindings together. I keep them and use them on potholders and other projects.
I'm lovin' the looks of your scrappy binding. Thanks for reminding me of Mrs. G's wonderful post.
