Strange Dream:
Last night I had a dream that Mrs. G and Nancy, NP stole me away from here in a big Van and we drove for miles and miles. Hannes was in the van. I kept fretting over whether or not he had to be let out to teedle. Nancy was driving and we were all over the road. I was worried about Nancy's driving. Mrs. G was doing applique in the passenger seat and no one was listening to me about Hannes. I kept asking if we could stop at a Cracker Barrell.
Turns out, it wasn't Hannes that had to pee! It was me!

At Susan's suggestion, I took the time to clean up my sewing/cutting area. The kitchen quilter didn't need anymore cleaning. I've already cleaned up my stash and the table is cleared. No pictures of that. This was the area that troubled me the most. It's the area Susan and I talked about. It was a lot of dern work.
It's a clear now. The First Hundred Days quilt is on the table, ready for me to dive into I think. If not, I'll put it away.
I understand why this was important to do. I already feels different. I guess there are no more excuses now. I'm going to have to get back to being a quilter. I have no idea why I'm avoiding it. Blocked. Like writers block. Sometimes you just have to dive in and do it. ~~~
A big huge hello to the new Blog friends I've met. Picked 'em up at the Bloggers Quilt Festival. That really was a great idea and a lot of fun. Such talent lurks; I never knew. Wow! ...and that's not even counting the super talented ladies that didn't sign up.

On the way back from the Drs yesterday I went by the yarn store and picked up two colors to add to my latest scrappy afghan. Shell stitched. Not really liking this one as much as I did the previous on, which has been taken over by the cats. They like to snuggle in it.

Thanks to everyone for your fun replies about my Amazon Parrot. I like to share her antics. The only thing I can say about her screaming is this: Dogs Bark, Cats Scratch and Amazon Parrots scream. If you can't handle any of these things - don't have one of them. I get it. I just want to share my endless pain! :)

Karen your "blocked" area is now so clean and organised. I have a few "blocked" spots too and will take care of them after Mother's Day.
That is why we love animals and have pets... we can handle all the screams or barks. Hope you will share more parrot stories.
Doesn't it feel SOOOOOOOOOO good when your sewing space is cleaned. Now you can "Let the juices flow"!
Oh, the adventure we had! You, Nancy, Hannes and me going to the Cracker Barrel! You made my day!! I just love the feeling of a clean space, it frees me to be more creative. I should try cleaning up a bit! :)
I totally agree about the clean space, it's like making a clean slate for a new project. Just went through this myself. Had a huge mess and was completely unorganized. Once I took a couple of days to redo storage, changed around sewing room furniture to better accommodate my work and Viola! I am a busy quilter again, piecing up a storm. Good luck to you! :o) I could never do the screaming bird, but the dogs and cats are purrfect.
Oh, gosh! Long post, but I am still laughing at the end about your dream at the beginning. Your workspace looks great. And I agree with your about the characteristics of pets. It's what makes them what they are! Like it or lump it.
Maybe I'll be in your dreams tonight? LOL
Get busy messing up that clean area!
What a dream you had! Lucky you, getting to spend time with Hannes (of course, I am solely zeroed in on the weenie dog!). Not so lucky having to wee! I have the strangest dreams when I have that urge - should I admit to that? Hmmmm.....
Your sewing room is lookin' good, girlfriend! Now you can let your mind go in whatever way it wants to wander. That's what I love about a clean worktable - the chance to mess it up again!!!! There's no hope for me, is there?
Karen, could you come to my house and do that organizing thingy? Then maybe I will get back in the sewing mood. We are actually out of town and I have my sewing machine with me so hope to get some sewing in.
ACTUALLY (in best Rain Man voice) I'm a very good driver.
Love the dream. Love you, too. Now would someone let Hannes out?
Re quilter's block ~start by telling yourself over and over to quit trying so hard . . . it will happen all on its own, when IT is ready ~ (ask me how I know) :-)
And tidying up is a great way to pass the time while the block unlocks itself.
Did I ever tell you that people used to phone me from other states to have me analyze their dreams! That was during my interesting psychic journey part of my life when I wasn't so busy quilting ;)
Interesting dream!
Love the clean space but don't force yourself. The block will lift -- and, judging by the post you did after this one, obviously already has!
Your dream was tooo funny. Hope you woke up in time..............
Laughing I am, Karen! Good to know it isn't just me that has dreams of "someone" having to pee - wild, aren't they! Sounds like you had a great group in the van, though - too bad you couldn't have stopped at the nearest bathroom, then continued on with the dream! No telling what kind of mischief you gals would have gotten into!
Cheers!
