Back on the Tracks and Pulling Jack's Chain

Well this just happened. In the "Huh, well I'll be darned" way. Had those nine patches on hand for probably a year. Never have figured what to do with 'em. I enjoy this block. Something about it makes me happy. Today I just thought "I think I might do that." Then before I knew it, I did it.

When I finished and walked away to take the shot, I started to hear it. "I seriously need some Red, Karen!" Damn skippy it does. Serious red. Not overdone red but this one is just too dark for me. The triangles.

~~~~~~~~~
The rest of my life is back on track. A little bit off the rails it did go. At one point I was a case without a basket! So I did sit down a make a list of perceived issues, map it out to see if it really did fall under "emergent" and I decided it was reasonably important but not emergent. I'm coping, feeling renewed energy to make the right phone calls (which is kinda stressful actually) and push hard to get my appointments sooner than June 24th. Those are lined up for next week.
Coping was the reason I wasn't on the computer. I needed rest, the comfort in chores, the assurance that my body was holding up without outside pressures. Not really much TV. Reading. Getting morning sun actually. And finally some piecing.
Odd. Odd how at this time, after all I've put forth these past couple of days, I'd chose to piece rather than work on my easy nine patches.
Odd as well that my ear is "broken" again with this treatment. Don't ask me what's up with that. I'm just a crazy lady. Apparently.
I love what you've done with those 9-patches!! I agree -- a red would be great for the triangles. What a great block!
Love the nine patches. What a novel idea.
So glad to hear you're back on track. I was beginning to worry.....thought about calling but got sidetracked by some spots......you know how that goes.
I'm in a tumbler mode so of course I love those -- I also have a ton of homespuns and have been contemplating my next quilt using them and tumbler is one of the options.
Sometimes we just have to take time to think everything through. Contrary to what I used to think when I was younger...there's no one right answer to our problems and situation... we just have to decide what's the right answer at this place and time for this situation.
I've been reading a lot this last couple weeks and just puttering with my quilting but it's been nice to take some of the pressure off to complete all the work I have here.
I'm heading for the sun and plan to relax, read, enjoy Keith's company for the next 9 days!
yep I too love those nine patches...what a brilliant idea.
Understand the effort of those darn phone calls...have been wasting $15 a month due to lack of making one phone call which seems so darn stupid when you feel normal but so reasonable when you don't.
I made this yummy soup....remember winter here and a cold one from she who never normally feels it...and I think I burnt the bits of leek on the bottom of the pot..these silly little black bits are floating. It is not burnt soup.just burnt floating bits, now that really makes sense. But I am cross about floating black bits as I love lamb shank broth soup.
Now what that has to do with yummy circle blocks with cute nine patches just proves I am self focused........LOL.
Go girl go.....with joy.
You've been heavy on my mind, my friend - good to know how you're doing. Your design wall is awash with creativity! I love it all, and I do agree, it needs red to 'Pop!'. I'm glad you've spent the days caring for YOU.
Back on track all right; I love the tone of this post. I'm happy to see what's on your design wall but happier to know that you took care of yourself first, I know that's not easy. Sending you great, big, giant cyber-hugs! Have a nice weekend, Kiddo!
Glad you are back! I've thought about you a lot over the past couple of days. Taking time out for yourself is not an easy task, but glad you were able to do it. And "Yes!" Go for the red! Love the stuff that is on your design wall right now!
YOU are the most important thing right now so do what you feel. Do what feels right. Relax. Enjoy the journey if that is possible. Still praying...
case without a basket - you really do crack me up!
BTW I have a pair of broken ears. I feel like I am listening to everything from underwater.
Very pretty things on your design wall there! I like the getting sun idea...a little every day. We have been trying to do this, and it seems to help.
We gotta get you a basket. (Oh come on, I know you are laughing!)
