Valuable. Yes, that's it. To my eye they're valuable cloths from the sideboard on the plantation or the fine cloth in the first born baby girl's room. They're the petticoats like grandma wore as a girl or the wallpaper in the formal dining room. Valuable reproductions in that sense. That's the story I imagine for these.
Above is what I created today to add and create and array such as what you see below.
The lavender is still on the table but I do believe that distracted from the "Valuable" meaning that's expressed (to me) in the fabric. That is to say, not everyone likes that color. So for today I removed it from the photo. But I will be including it. ~~~
Sometimes it's good to be a girl! Thanks for the share.

Oh, Karen, they are beautiful! So dainty and feminine.
Yes for the lavender, yes, yes, yes!!!
Can't wait to see more.
I've not been upstairs to sew yet...a bit sore still. Tomorrow or Wednesday I'm going to venture up and do some stitchin'.

Whattya mean not everyone likes lavendar?!?!? How can they not? It's a shade of purple which is such a wonderful color! I mean, it's not like you're trying to include ORANGE.....
Absolutely glorious. Soft and feminine and just plain beautiful to look at -- and I agree with Liz! Lavender is the most wonderful colour. Goes with pink, soft minty greens, darker richer mauves, and on and on -- I love lavender!
So very lovely - just as I see that you are.
Surely everyone likes lavender? Please can we see a pic with the lavender in? I think it will complement the other soft colours you've got there.
I have a nice selection of shirtings too.... :o)
Really soft and beautiful - I love the look of your new project!
You do have a creative imagination!
Another vote for lavender....love it!
Oooh ooh. Where is it? Whadya do with it?! The lavender...please please please can we see it?!
I'm not quite sure if there's a color that I don't like. I don't know if I like every color every day...I am sort of moody like that, ya know. But lavender and soft green and soft pink and creamy whites. Mmm...pretty.
Girlfriend hugs....
Your mind fascinates me - you weave this wonderful story around your quilts. I should think about doing that. Very creative of you, Karen! Your blocks are lovely - sweet and soft.
I love these Karen - very soft and dainty - I know a diversion from your preferred high contrast, but a lovely diversion it is!
Cheers!
