Burning Thru the Cash!

There was a peaceful feel to the morning. Thankful, grateful, grounded. Something was released. There was rain, the sun was just rising and I was quiet with myself. There was no tension ~ it was all peace. A nice period of well-being after the harried days that started the week.

Getting ready for IV day means ensuring the house is stocked. That worked out fine since it just so happens that I needed everything anyway. Dog food, cat food, human food. Plus paper products, cleaning things and just stuff you're completely out of that you don't normally buy. $$$ So, okay this is a slim pay-period. I can hang. Truth be told, I am thankful I could take care of these errands on my own!

Then the vacuum cleaner died. $ Long haired dogs and cats. One simply cannot live without a vacuum cleaner. Had to make that purchase. I vacuum daily. What did I buy? I'm a girl that goes for the basics and buys cheap when it comes to this item. It works for me. This one is also a Bissell. Not pricey and works great. Lasted for 4 years. Fine by me.

So okay, we're starting to burn through some money but it's a tight pay-period and that happens. I just figured I'd roll with it since this isn't anything new and really, come on, we all deal with it. Could be much worse. So I get back to my chores, somewhat distracted grabbing my pile of laundry only to come upon a leaky Water Heater. $$$ Drats!!!

The Water Heater has been working great for 13 years - a lot of work out of it, really. I did have this money earmarked for a generator. During Hurricane Season I'd like to be able to stay home and "well" out of the heat. Power outages dontcha know. Unfortunately, the money for the generator just went to the Water Heater.

Who was it that was talking about things growing on Trees? Huh!

(ps: ...and the dentist is a fairly emergent appointment today. That came up, too and could impact my ability to get my infusion tomorrow. But maybe it's not so big a deal and we'll be able to roll with it. I'm thinkin' that...)

Whoever said that life way easy...lied! You have had one of them there days that it all goes to hell in a hand basket(love that saying). I just hate when that happens. Hope all goes well with the IV.

Hugs,

Anett

Yup - when it rains, it pours . . . sigh (and hugs to you)

Best wishes for staying on your infusion schedule!

Hopefully the well will self-heal the leak after today! I'm pushing positive thoughts your way, Karen...so is Sophie!
Cheers!

I am so sorry to learn of the cash leaking out of LeeHaven like water through a sieve. Bummer. I pray all systems are go for the infusion.

Everything always seems to happen at once. I HATE that. Sorry to hear about the water heater but, at 13 years you were probably due anyway. We managed to go something like 19 years -- talk about borrowed time. And then it wasn't just a simple exchange. No siree -- we had to have this very unique kind of water heater. It was a long, ugly tale.

Wishing you nothing but goodness tomorrow. Will be thinking about you.

Just one of those days - we had the water heater thing happen also - wow those babies are spendy - but oh so nice when you want a good hot shower - or clean dishes. Now we'll just ask the universe for a generator for you too - there has to be one out there with your name on it.

Today is a resting day for Don - he worked two days - 5 hours each - and feels the need for rest - so that is where we are. Enjoy the rest of your burning money day - hopefully without burning any more.

Yeah, we've had years and months like this here too. Our water heater and oil burner (for heat in winter in case you Florida people don't have one) broke within a day of each other. Right now the chain saw is toast and we have to get a new one to get hte wood ready for winter. And it sure would be nice to have a generator after last year's ice storm experience.

Oh no! Apparently the appliance virus is effecting Florida as well as Georgia (see my post yesterday). Better call the CAC (Centers for Appliance Control)to report. I feel your pain and send you a "bless your heart" too! Good luck with the IV.

Oh, lots of money changing hands, going the WRONG way lately! It seems like when you have one thing, you have three or four. We call this rice and beans, then beans and rice for variety times. Hoping IV day goes smooth as silk!

Oh, dear! All the leaves falling off the money tree at once isn't fun. Hope they grow back quickly so that the generator is still possible. Why is that one thing can't go, but has to have another failed item as company every time??
Good luck on IV day.

Thumbs up to you, Karen, for going above & beyond to stimulate the economy.(Grin) We seem to be doing our share with unplanned expenditures lately, too. I'm thinking the water heater will be the next thing to give out! Chin up. This too shall pass and next month will be smooth sailing....I'm keeping my toes, fingers and eyes crossed for you.

Why is it that everything always breaks down at the same time? Just think of it as contributing to the recovery of our economic problems. I rent my water heater, but today I am waiting for the AC guy to come and fix imy airconditioning so that I can stay cool this summer. It always something. Hope all goes well at the dentist and also for your infusion.

Water heaters are designed to go out at 10 years. 1 month over the warranty. *sigh* Good luck, maybe your stars are not aligned correctly at the moment.

Some days you're the statue and some days you're the pigeon. Drat and double drat! Hope nothing else breaks down.
Good luck for the infusion. Be brave. hugs. Lynda

Feeling your pain! I also had a dental appointment today but luckily my fears of cavities turned out to be just a pregnancy hormone thing. Teeth good. We had our water heater actually explode in February. Not pretty and wound up replacing it but it's much more energy efficient. Thankfully our dyson is holding up well. It gets a workout from Sophia and my hair.

Did I mention we're short a car currently. My husbands Focus has a mysterious problem that no one seems to be able to diagnosis.
I just feel your pain. Really really feel it.

Prayers and love babe, prayers and love. Doesn't it just suck how it all seems to hit at once though??? Cosmos?? Astrology?? Hexes??

Doesn't it always happen that way?

Oh Karen...
Just one thing after another...I think they call it " Murphy's Law"...what will go wrong will go wrong...Hope that's it and you can get back to your sewing..

You poor thing. Not fun when you have to spend money on home repairs. Hope it is clear sailing in days to come. Hope also all goes well with the IV tomorrow.

When it rains, it pours; troubles come in threes and on and on. Hang in there Karen, the sun will shine again. My prayers are with you for your infusion day. Hugs

We've lived in our house for 19 years and are on our third water heater. They are really made to last only about 8 years these days, I was told by my plumber. Luckily my plumber is also my nephew so we catch a break on the install. Last time it cost me $100 and a cheesecake.

Good luck with your new appliances and your infusion!

"It never rains but it pours" is such a true saying isn't it?

I don't know why it is, but things seem to fall apart one right after the other, and then all is quiet for the longest time. I'm sorry for the $$$ flying out your door like it had wings. Hopefully it's wings have been clipped now and it's here to stay!

Don't we all need that money tree! We had to replace our water heater too. Oy what a mess. We had to call a plumber after Mr. HIve slaved all day. Oh well. We are trying to scrimp and pay ourselves back for the money used while my husband was out of work. He's still not comfortable in the new job yet. We just pray it lasts for a while.
