I cannot believe it's 2:30. I can but I can't. Once again time is *snap* *whoosh* like that ~ gone. I wasn't present for any of it either and that's nothing to be proud of. If time allows I'd like to chat about all my day entailed but first and foremost let us share some quilty things. We've got to prioritize. We can always catch up on the dailies of life. Quilty things are the "it's it" when we have things to share and I have me some shares by golly by gosh...
A Milestone! I completed the Wave border. I finally had to toss out what I learned in class and re-learn my own way. Sometimes that's the best anyway. You can always take the class later to pick up some tips along the way if you're so inclined. I'm like that. Like me. I'm seriously thinking of taking the class again. This is one of those Quilting Skills I'd like to be proficient at. Just a personal quest.
Set A, B, C, D of the Cabin Tracks blocks are complete. A Milestone.
4 sets of 11 sets of sashing are complete.
Now it's time to pull out the pattern and think about the "pulling together" of it all. *smack* I realized the border is a piano key border. I almost (not quite) despise piano key borders for a variety of reasons, all of which are personal to the quilter - me. So I spent quite a bit of time studying the photo and visualizing a variety of border treatments. At the same time I had to ask myself why I disliked the piano key border. I've yet to get an answer but it's likely I'll just do the piano key. I really like that inner black border there though, don't you?
Once again I have serious fabric lust. Only this time it's really for real. Rouenneries by French General is dynamite but it's not Quilting Karen! Pennock Album from Windham... Now this is Quilting Karen!!! Don't you just think a couple of pieces in here are oh soooo yummy! Please, please tell me if you do. I want to know I'm not the only one that can see the potential.
Seriously, it's hard to be a Quilter!
And we're out of time. Sheesh! Well, it was fun while it lasted, ha? Don't forget to let me know if you love that Pennock Album like I do.

Aren't you productive! I see why time got away. Do you not like the way piano key borders look, or not like making them? I like them myself, but if they have to come out just right, that could be a bit tricky.
I had't seen that fabric line! Thanks for sharing...and I agree some needs to find it's way to Quilty Karen.
I'm loving those piano key borders I think it adds interest to the blocks. I have a quilt upstairs waiting for me to work on a piano key border...at least I think it could use one.
I read your ps....omg...I'm in pain today because I seriously pulled my back at the store. I sure could use something stronger than the four Motrin. Take care of yourself girl!
I'm dazzled by your productivity, your wave border, and your cute little smile. And, yes, that is very, very nice fabric.
Yes, this Windham fabric group IS you (the General falls short in that category).
Do you dislike piano key borders because they are NOT precise and symmetrical? Your work is so gorgeous, I sense the PK border may feel too "loose" or "random" for you (which is why I love the freedom the PK offers). No matter how you choose to border it, your Cabin Tracks is quickly becoming a stunner.
Congrats on mastering the wave - I've used it on a table runner but never a full size quilt.
I feel the same way about the Rouenneries fabric. I am trying to resist.
My! You've been busy! The wave border looks great. I have yet to try that. The Cabin Tracks sashing is looking good! I really like the piano key border. I would do it. And that
Windham fabric looks delicious! Go for it!
Your a busy busy girl!
I love that quilt your working on...yes I could see myself doing that one too!
and that fabric is gorgeous...must check it out..

The fabric is beautiful. But I really really love the quilt. I can't wait to see yours done.
That fabric definitely has your name written all over it! I do love that line. Very pretty.
I'm loving your Cabin Tracks blocks! They're amazing. Personally I'm a fan of the piano key border. Just an opportunity to squeeze even more fabrics in!
Cabin Tracks is coming along beautifully! I agree, that inner black border is a nice touch.
I LOVE that quilt in the background, the fabrics are exquisite.

My goodness you've been busy. Love the wave border. I also happen to like piano key borders. But sadly, I can say that Pennock Album does nothing for me. But then, that just means there will be more for you.
You have really done a lot - and those fabrics are past fabulous.
I can see why you're attracted to those fabrics -- I see some stripes in that collection that would be fun to play with. But I have to admit Rouenneries is the collection that I have been drooling over.
Your doing the wave, girl! Looking good! Hey, I like the piano key border, but I think it's the black border that makes it work. I see no reason whatsoever to not love the Pennock Album...it's all good. Just think of the possibilities here!
You know, today I would have to agree that there are times when it is hard to be a quilter. Especially when back pain comes calling. Me thinks that Cabin Tracks is totally pain worthy. :-)
Yes I love that fabric and I've yet to feel the urge to posess the french general. I must be the only one. I do love how your quilt is coming along.
I love the piano key border, but it would not have the beauty it does without the black border, that just makes it! Love the Pennock fabric also. Sorry for the back pain you are having, I hope you feel better soon. Sending prayers and good wishes your way.
If you're planning to buy some of that fabric, just make sure you leave some for me.
Sorry the back's still painful. Hope it gets better soon.
The black inner border really works! I will have to give black a try. Good luck on the back pain. I quit taking Wellbutrin, and my back pain magically disappeared. It would be nice if it could be that easy for everyone. Karmen
I'm loving the fabric. Repro's are my favourites.
Hope your back stops hurting real soon.
Love and hugs, Lynda
Thank you for showing Pennock Album because NOW I HAVE TO HAVE IT! And by IT I mean the whole fat quarter collection - I'm doomed. (Sorry for shouting - I got excited.) :-) It's gorgeous.
RE: wavy borders. Do you have a french curve, like you use in dressmaking? I find it helpful in laying out curved borders.
That selection says, "Karen" louder than it does "Amy" which is a good thing considering my purchase of the general...
Piano key borders - we must study that one closer...
Definitely love the Pennock Album. I agree, it is hard to resist all this fabric. I am making a cave of it and crawling in.
I love piano key borders, and it goes so well with that wonderful quilt you are making! Are the sashings driving you nuts too? That is a lot of strips. I would cut them all a bit longer and then trip them even at the end. That is what I do. I am finishing up one with lots of strips.
How brave to do a wavy border! Yes those fabrics are very appetizing, I can see why you love them. They are very Karen!
Your Cabin Tracks quilt is going to be stunning and you have got a lot done lately .... yeah for you!
The Penrock Album fabric ..... well, I am lusting after some of it and need to figure out what to make with some of the fabric.
Sugarloaf is an awesome pattern .... when are you starting it? Soon, I bet! :o)
Do I like Pennock Album? I LOVE Pennock Album and didn't know it existed. Thanks for the tip. I CANNOT wait to see your Belle Meade. I have fabric set apart for my version of Belle Meade too but in Civil War colors but I love, LOVE, your colors and can't wait to see it!

It's really time that fabric companies start making ugly fabric for awhile so we can catch our breath (and give the ol' bank account a rest). I LOVE this fabric line. I'm thinking some of those blues and reds may find their way into my stash....darn it all!
This quilt is going to be so pretty...I personally like piano key borders but don't always take the time to piece borders for my quilts. In fact, I try to make lots of quilts without ANY borders!
