Potato Chips
It's always fun to suddenly have a block party! I'm so glad Rose Marie reminded me to keep the pattern up so I'd remember to make a block when I was ready. hee!

Do you see what I see...
A row is about to come together. Looks like the sashing has to shaved a bit but not a big deal and now that I'm looking at this I can't believe I making this one. I dig it but it doesn't really look like me except it's scrappy. Gosh it's fun to make though, fun, fun, fun.

Sitting here at this time of night is sort of a ritual for me, a high use time - posting or reading. Interesting to check out my "Trends" via Google Reader. I'm not sure it's so funny to see my start time though, you might cringe unless you're an early bird, are you? I start around 5am and let dogs out, start up the pc because they take forever, clean the cat boxes, wash my hands, start the coffee, let dogs in and feed, feed the cats then have a cup of fruit and coffee. Finish feeding the cats (gotta keep 'em separated) and uncover the birds. You see what I mean? I hit the ground running.
A friend shared some interesting info about how this "early to rise & hit the ground running" habit likely reduces your life span. I've attempt to re-train myself though. It's easier to train a dog.

Night Owl by nature but with having other people in the house I'm pretty much up all morning too. Happy to get four hours a night these days.
Love your chips! Love all your quilts. You've got style ;)
I do my best and most in the early am...fading ever so quickly past the dinner hour. Why am I on here so late then? LOL Actually I'm heading off to bed so I can try and accomplish much tomorrow; your making me look bad! Your getting some wonderful blocks done!!
Then I am in serious trouble - I am up at 4 or 5 , sometimes not until 6, and I hit the ground running and enjoy every second of it. By 8 p.m. I am no where to be found - ready for bed but I stick it out until around 10 - only easy activities though.
Cute blocks - I am doing paper pieced flying geese by the zillions.
Another early riser here... Love the mornings... Nothing beats waking up with the quiet of the world, and being able to see it also wake with color and sounds...
8pm is my usual bedtime... Right now it is 8:20... Just not a night owl or creature of the dark.... I don't like night driving or trying to see in the dark.. although I love the stars and the full moon.
I like my sunshine...
I'd rather die young than die as a vampire... bloodsuckers that they are! ...
I'm a total night owl. Always have been. I am so thankful I don't have to be anywhere at a set time in the mornings -- that, for me, would be pure torture!
Aha! So THAT'S why I don't "do mornings" she says as it's 11:17 p.m.
Nice blocks. I did something this weekend too...finished a Christmas gift -- a quilt for my nephew. Woo hoo!!!!!
Good thing you don't have a husband who teaches doggies things like "wake up Mama". How do you un-teach them that?!?!?
Us livestock managers get a lot done by 9 a.m. Don't we?
I'm loving your latest piecing Karen and glad you are enjoying it.
Usually I go to sleep when i'm tired and get up when I feel like it! (except on work days when it is 20 minutes to 8, no sooner, no later).
No Lucydog to walk now. She used to wake us by sticking a wet nose in your face - nice!
Unfortunately I have no inner clock (cicada rhythm?) at all. I used to blame it on university...then the army...then doing the 11 pm newscast...but really I just think I missed that gene! (Though Macbeth will not let me sleep past 0900...his short little legs will toss his solid little body against the edge of the bed shaking the entire room until I get up and let him out and feed the cats....)
Uset'a be a night owl....now i have three fur babies that refuse to let me sleep pass 6:30am!!....but....sometimes i'm still in my PJ's at 10:00am....lots of quilting can be done in the ole' PJ's........
Enjoy....LindaMay
Cute, cute blocks! It's great to see your joy jumping out of my computer screen.
I am also an early riser - I like to start laundry or get a few chores done and then sit down with a cuppa coffee and ponder the day ahead. I love the peace and quiet, unless the weenies start barking!
Good Morning! I'm hurrying as I have my regulare 6 week doctor vist this morning(ugh, so tired of Doctors but so thankful for them at the same time). I just had to take a moment and say, YES, it is definitely easier to train a dog, even a cat or bird, than it is to retrain ourselves! The saying "Old habits die hard" is 100% correct. Also, the first picture you have up with the scrappy pyramid blocks is wonderful. I have to tell you though that at first glance, I thought, Wow...if that was done in pinks and had two more blocks at the top coming to a point it would look like a modern "Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon". Funny what our mind sees at first blush isn't it?
Have a wonderful day.
Oh wow! I should live a long life!!
I'm an early bird. I love the quiet morning while everyone is asleep and no one needs me. I can get so much done.
Great chips - you do see how to sew it in rows, right? I don't want to hear about set-in seams...
I hit the ground early - crawling!
although come to think about it, a special someone in my life has started to crawl quickly - especially if he sees me coming! I swear!
I used to be a morning person. I would hit the ground running and not stop until after dinner. Then my kids would come in and kiss me goodnight! But now I am up lots of nights, sewing at my machine at 3:00am. It is so nice and quiet and I have no interruptions at that time. On those nights (days) I sleep in. I guess it doesn't really matter when I get up now. I just do whatever I want, when ever I want. That's called retirement!
I am a night owl, but will have to hit the ground running once I go back to work in December.
This is really cute.
The triangle block and the settings you're creating are simply fantastic, scrumptious, and mahhhhvelous! I can't wait to see how it progresses.
Sheesh, I thought potato chips were bad for us and the early bird always gets the worm! Hee. Rose Marie is right, you keep those blocks on the design board and they will speak to you, lol, talk you in to making them some company to hang out with...at the crack of dawn. :-)
Your latest project is just darling - so very me! Looking forward to seeing more of this one.
I'm not a morning person, but I'd like to be. I keep hoping that I'll turn into one some day, but I love the solitude in the evenings after the tiny people are in bed. I guess I just can't have the best of both worlds.
Be sure to have a wonderful week.
*hugs*

:-)
I'm an early riser too, love mornings, and the morning routine. I can't believe it's bad for you!
Those triangles look great, and they are your style, in color anyway.
Hee hee .... look what you've done! That block was just too much temptation!
Since retiring, I'm a slow riser and enjoy puttering around in the mornings.
It's always great to see what's on your design wall.
I so NOT a morning person, usually the only time I'm up for a sunrise is when I've been up all night.
Love all the blocks and quilts in progress. I don't mind longish quilts that aren't so wide -- I think of them as sofa quilts.
Hope your back feels better soon.
